Are you sneezing?
Remember when people came to Arizona for their allergies? Well, thanks to all the plants and grasses that have been imported to the desert this is no longer true. Plus dust mites are found everywhere.
A few hints on bedrooms from the team at Helping Hands. You must be defensive when fighting allergens. Clean bedrooms and closets often and thoroughly. Because we are in the desert, vacuuming and dusting often is of utmost importance. Wash and dry bedding frequently.
Other ways to minimize allergens in your bedroom include encasing your mattress, box spring, and pillows in dust mite proof covers. Washing linens weekly in hot water. This will kill any dust mites. Or drying on a regular or permanent press cycle also kills most dust mites. Those hypoallergenic mattress pads should be washed every week in the same manner as your bedding. Get rid of any wool blankets, feather stuffed comforters or pillows. Replace with washable cotton blankets and antibacterial pillows. Pillows should be washed every month according to manufacture's directions. Keep those pets off the bed or preferably out of the bedroom entirely.
Helping Hands would be happy to assist you at any of these things, except of course, Fido. Let us hear your tips for minimizing allergens in the home.
